My husband and I stayed at L'orologio in Venice Italy on the Grand Canal. We were lucky to stumble across this amazing eatery that was down an ally way to the right of the hotel if you were coming out the door from the hotel and took a right on San Palo street. ( it is close to the Mercato di Rialto. Which sells fresh fish spices and produce).Aibotteri is on San Polo street 1695 Venezia.
We had no idea where to eat but they welcomed us in after reading the menu. So far best meal in Italy. They recommend the flounder and the scallops as an appetizer. All very fresh and seasoned perfectly. It must of just bought the seafood at the fish market steps away that day.
Presentation and flavor perfection. We made the mistake of going a few restaurants down the next night and we were so disappointed.
We really kicked ourselves for not going back. Aibotteri will always be a special pace for us.
I have read reviews on the front staff and yes they could be a lot more friendly . They aren't rude but they could take it up a notch on being more personable. But maybe they only see tourists and not regulars? They warmed up to us
And acknowledged us when we walked past them and then ate the worst place ever just across the street, We still regret not going back. But as tourists you want to try new places. That was a mistake. -

May 10, 2017 Wednesday - 1:30 PM for lunch
4 adults
Atmosphere - 5 stars
Food - 4 stars
Service - 5 stars
Background - Just finished our walking tour near the bridge and started looking for a place to eat.
Atmosphere - We sat outside so I can not tell you much other than the weather was lovely.
Food
Drink - Peroni on tap.
Lunch - You know I love pizza and I am at it again. Today the pizza is called the Pizza Diavola. I have no idea how to say it but I their take on the spicy salami pizza. Their salami was cut like a pepperoni. They could have placed a few more on the pizza. There was not much spice to the salami, but still a good salami.
Service - Another restaurant walking by and was encourage to have a table.
Future - Sure -

So my girlfriend and I were on a wild goose chase to go find a pizzeria by the name of antico forno (great place I would recommend checking out) and we just were starving. So we just sat down here because there was nothing else close by.
So we were greeted by 2 Italian waiters and also a Chinese owner (disclaimer that I am Chinese also). The prices were decent: 11-13 euro for a gnocchi bolognese and 13-15 euro linguini with shrimp.
However be warned. They charge 2.50 euro for water and don't have tap water. Also they charge a 5 euro cover fee!!! IF YOU DONT KNOW what this is look it up before eating here.
Onto the food:
Gnocchi with bolognese. It looked good at first but you could tell the gnocchi was not very consistent in its texture. They also did not take out the oil from the meat after cooking it, making the entire dish oily and extremely heavy.
Linguini with shrimp. This was a lighter dish overall, but it lacked flavor. The shrimp was just regular shrimp and added some flavor. The linguini was nothing to rave about.
Overall the location was not terrible, but for Venice I must judge harder and say this place was slightly below average of what I would expect from Italy.
